Get involved in the Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Group

Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospitals Group (FSFHG) is committed to partnering with consumers to ensure a person-centred approach to service planning, delivery and evaluation. This means that we give consumers the opportunity to be involved and have their say in shaping the health care that we provide.

What is a Consumer Advisory Council?

The Consumer Advisory Council (CAC) is a formal partnership between consumer and carer representatives and FSFHG. Consumer and carer representatives usually have lived experience of using health services. The CAC includes local consumers, carers and community members who provide support and advice to FSFHG in order to improve the hospital experience.

What does the Consumer Advisory Council do?

  • Advise FSFHG on consumer and carer issues and perspectives
  • Are members of key FSFHG committees
  • Review consumer publications for readability and accessibility
  • Conduct surveys about patient experience and report to the FSFHG executive team
  • Participate in co-design approaches for developing relevant clinical staff orientation and training

What is the time commitment?

The CAC currently meets on the first Thursday of the month, alternating between morning and afternoon, and between the Fiona Stanley Hospital and Fremantle Hospital sites. Ideally, we require at least a three-year commitment from members. There are also other hospital committees which CAC members may join from time to time.

Who can apply?

Anyone can apply to become a CAC member.
