The SMHS Emergency and Elective Access Program (EEAP) was established following the inception of the DoH’s Emergency Access Program (EAR), which reports to the Ministerial Taskforce on Emergency Access.

The SMHS EEAP will engage and collaborate with clinical and operational leaders across SMHS to share learnings and develop sustainable SMHS-wide solutions so we can provide:

  1. Safe and timely access to emergency care
  2. Safe and timely access to elective surgery
  3. Safe and timely access to outpatient appointments

Help us to understand where the problems or issues are.

Why do you think emergency demand is exceeding capacity? Help us to identify the causative factors by posting your thoughts below. (max 140 characters).
