Your experiences
Tell us about your experiences of receiving care from SMHS.
The South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) is developing its next Strategic Plan.
The Strategic Plan will set out what is important to SMHS and what we want to focus on over the coming years. It will help guide our priorities and the way we plan and deliver health services for our community.
We have been listening to different perspectives and considering the challenges and opportunities that may shape healthcare in the future. We have identified some possible priorities and now want to hear from consumers and community members to make sure our Strategic Plan reflects what matters most to the people who use our services.
The experiences and views of our patients, consumers, carers and community members are an important part of developing the Strategic Plan.
We want to understand:
The activities below explore three important questions:

Looking towards a future SMHS.
What would you like to see SMHS improve over the next few years?
A Strategic Plan sets the long-term direction for an organisation. It sets out the priorities, goals and actions that will guide how SMHS delivers healthcare and improves services over the coming years.
Our current Strategic Plan is coming to an end. We are developing a new plan to help us respond to changing community needs, opportunities and challenges, and to ensure we continue providing safe, high-quality healthcare.
Consumers, carers and community members bring a unique perspective on what matters most in healthcare. Your experiences and ideas can help us identify priorities and shape future services.
We want to make sure we are focusing on the right things. Your feedback will help us understand what is important to the people who use our services.
Your feedback will be reviewed alongside input from staff, partners and stakeholders. It will be used to help inform the priorities and direction of the new SMHS Strategic Plan.
Your responses will be reviewed and reported in a way that protects your privacy. Individual responses will not be attributed to you without your permission.
Yes. We welcome feedback from consumers, carers and community members, including people who may have used our services in the past or who support someone who has.
We will review all feedback. Findings will help inform development of the draft Strategic Plan, and a summary of what we heard will be shared on this page.
