Why we are creating this eBook

Food is a way of connecting with others, and serves as a representation of our heritage, history, and values.

Observed during March, Harmony Week is a time to recognise our cultural diversity and promote inclusivity and a sense of belonging for all - from the traditional owners of the land to those who have come from many countries around the world.

This year we invited staff at our sites to help us create the first edition of the SMHS Taste of Harmony eBook. We were inundated with recipes that represented countries including Brazil, Spain and Pakistan.

We are proud to launch the first edition of the SMHS Taste of Harmony eBook.

How else can I get involved?

The South Metropolitan Health Service will be reviewing their Multicultural Plan during 2024.

Our current plan outlines initiatives identified to advance the goal of becoming a health service that affords equal opportunities for all consumers and staff including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

We want to build on the work that we have achieved.

To do that, we need to hear from our community and so during 2024, we will be hosting workshops and forums.
