Thank you for your nominations!

Patient Experience Week 2026 provides an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the positive impact our staff have on the experience of consumers, carers and family members across our health service.

This year, we received over 150 nominations recognising staff for delivering compassionate care to patients and families across our hospitals and community services.

These nominations highlight how much patients and their families value the kindness, empathy and respect demonstrated in the care we provide, and they acknowledge those who consistently go above and beyond their everyday duties.

Nominations will be assessed by a panel that includes consumer representatives, with the top 30 nominees receiving a Compassionate Care Award badge.

All nominees will be invited to attend one of the Compassionate Care Award ceremonies held across SMHS, where they will be presented with a certificate in recognition of their contribution.

What happens next?

A panel of consumers and staff will judge the nominations received. 30 nominations which highlight a high level of compassionate care will be awarded a Compassionate Care Award badge at site presentation events held during Patient Experience Week, 27 April - 1 May 2026.

All staff nominated will be recognised with a certificate to acknowledge the amazing care they have provided.
